Art Project
«New Abilities in
New Conditions»

Everyone has a story, but not everyone has a voice to tell it.

Some voices have been silenced by war. Yet, at NGO Talk! we believe in the power of rehabilitation potential for people with disabilities both inborn or acquired.

We invite you to join us on a journey to witness these stories - stories of resilience, strength, and quiet victories. These individuals often fight invisible battles while remaining unseen.

Through this art project, we aim to reveal the faces of Ukraine. Because even without a voice, there is a way for a story to be told.

We’re honored to share these six transformative life stories from the 481 we (co)created together.

Our goal is to amplify Ukrainian voices. And by 2026, we aim to double the number of stories, reaching 1,000. We invite you to become a voice for Ukrainians today by subscribing to monthly support for our mission.

Olena, 28 years old

Hard of hearing, communicates using the TippyTalk app, loves dancing and attending music concerts.

The project highlights that the face of society will never be the same. It has become more diverse, reflecting the multifaceted human stories, especially those of people living with disabilities. The goal of the project is not only to raise awareness about inclusivity but also to serve as a megaphone for people with disabilities, sharing their experiences, challenges, and achievements. The project seeks to emphasize the importance of integrating every individual into society, revealing their abilities and place in this new, transformed reality in Ukraine. It creatively immerses you in the heart of our vision - that every person is heard, and every talent fulfilled.

"I hear everything and understand everything"

This powerful phrase has helped Daryna stand up for herself. She uses it to remind others to treat her as a person, not an accessory. Digital technologies have become her voice, enabling her to express herself. With TippyTalk, Daryna confidently shares her thoughts, makes new friends on the playground, and orders her favorite cocoa at a café without barriers.

"I pray for my mother, friends from the workshop, and Ukraine’s victory"

By voicing this sentence through TippyTalk, Olena became part of a community and participated in a collective prayer at the Friendly Workshop of Caritas-Lviv. Previously, she communicated solely through sounds and touches. Now, being heard and understood brings Olena great joy. Olena can make new acquaintances and share her feelings.

Saint Nicholas Educational Rehabilitation Center

312 children, 100 of them non-verbal

This educational rehabilitation center, located in the Lviv region, serves children and youth with disabilities. During the full-scale war, it has welcomed many children forced to leave their homes due to active combat or occupation.

"I want to answer"

This is a phrase non-verbal children can use during classes with the TippyTalk app. Currently, the center supports more than a hundred non-verbal students. All of them use TippyTalk during sessions with speech therapists and psychologists, actively participate in classes, and communicate with their families at home.

For many parents, the app has been a true blessing, as it allows them to finally hear and understand their children.

Daryna, 8 years old

Communicates using the TippyTalk app, loves cocoa, and dreams of becoming a singer. This year, Daryna began attending a regular general education school.

Yulia, 28 years old

Communicates using the TippyTalk app and has been undergoing rehabilitation for six years following a traumatic brain injury caused by a car accident. She loves shopping and dining out.

"I feel sad"

This is a sentence Yulia often says to her mother, sometimes without any apparent reason. With TippyTalk, she can finally express her emotions and receive the support she needs from her loved ones.

Oleksandr, 43 years old

Speaks with the help of the TippyTalk app. Oleksandr sustained a brain injury and complete paralysis from a mine explosion on the front line. He loves hiking and dreams of regaining his driving skills.

"I love you"

These are the words Oleksandr, a military serviceman, was unable to say to his daughter after his severe injury. Now, thanks to the TippyTalk messenger, he sends her this phrase every day.

"Every person is heard, and every talent fulfilled"

This is the dream that we all share. When we envisioned Talk!, our mission was centered around people and their potential. At Talk!, we seek and create digital solutions to ensure every person has a voice. We want to change perceptions towards people with disabilities in Ukraine, especially now during times of war. We use the power of technology to make this vision a reality.

We invite you to support our dream!
